Youth Summer Camps
The Thomasville History Center’s camps bring history to life for rising 1st Graders through rising 6th Graders each summer. Each day brings new adventures and a little museum mischief as we explore the history, people, and stories of our community.
Camp Dawson Jr.
Camp Dawson Jr. is designed especially for our younger campers, with developmentally appropriate activities for rising 1st through rising 3rd graders. The History Center’s historic campus provides the setting for a four-day exploration of Thomasville’s rich past.
Campers will get hands-on with history through crafts, games, stories, historic skills, and interactive activities that bring the people and places of the past to life. Along the way, they will explore how our community has grown and changed while making new discoveries, new memories, and new friends.
Camp Dawson Jr. will take place June 7–10, 2027.
Registration opens January 8, 2027.

Camp Dawson
Camp Dawson is designed for older campers, with activities created especially for rising 4th through rising 6th graders. During this four-day camp, students will dig deeper into the history of Thomasville and Thomas County while exploring the people, places, and stories that shaped our community.
The History Center’s historic campus will serve as home base for hands-on activities, historic skills, games, tours, and interactive learning experiences. Campers will also venture beyond campus through walking tours in Downtown Thomasville, giving them the opportunity to connect local history with the places they see today.
Camp Dawson will take place June 14–17, 2027.
