“Murder & Mayhem: Downtown History Walking Tour ‘On the Bricks’” | Saturday, October 17 & Saturday, October 24, 2026, 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
We may be the Rose City, but every garden has its thorns…
Join Thomasville History Center Curator of Engagement Meme Greitzer for an evening walking tour through Historic Downtown Thomasville exploring some of the darker chapters of the city’s distant past.
By day, Broad Street is the quintessential heart of downtown Thomasville. After dark, we’ll explore the murders, mysteries, scandals, and other misfortunes that have unfolded along its historic streets. From Thomas County’s first murder trial and the bedraggled Union soldiers who arrived at the end of the Civil War to the hijinks of Prohibition, this one-hour tour will introduce some of the people who built downtown Thomasville—and others who lost everything along the way.
Tours begin at Walgreens, 301 S. Broad St., and conclude at the UnVacant Lot, 217 W. Jackson St. Please arrive by 6:45 p.m. Tours are limited to 20 participants per date.
Tickets are $15 for adult members, $20 for adult general admission, $10 for youth members, and $15 for youth general admission.
Recommended for ages 12 and up. This tour includes historical discussion of murder, violence, death, and other mature subjects. Parental discretion is advised.
