Annual Meeting and Show 'N Tell

The Thomasville History Center invites the public to its Annual Meeting and Collections Show ’N Tell on Sunday, January 25. This special event offers a behind-the-scenes look at artifacts donated in 2025, giving visitors a rare chance to see items before they enter long-term storage.

The Show ’N Tell will take place from 1:00 to 4:00 PM, featuring guided tours of the History Center’s newly organized collections storage led by Curator Ephraim Rotter. The Annual Meeting will begin at 2:00 PM in the Davis Wing.

Featured items include historic photographs, architectural salvage, organizational scrapbooks, film footage, educational materials, and newly acquired collections tied to Thomas County’s rich and diverse history. Admission is free and open to all.

Thomas County's Bicentennial

Working alongside the Thomas County Board of Commissioners, the Thomasville History Center hosted, “An Act: A Commemorative Reading of An Act to Create Two New Counties,” during Victorian Christmas on December 11 & 12, 2025.

Guests joined us as we explored the past 200 years of Thomas County’s history. We presented artifacts for visitors to discover, shared a slideshow full of images showcasing our community’s past, features a performance of reading of the founding document, offered free Bicentennial memorabilia, and much more. Guests were encouraged to participate in the reading and interact with costumed interpreters. It was a historic evening as we looked back on the last 200 years and looked ahead to Thomas County’s future! Click the image (left) to learn more. Thanks to all who participated!
