What Is An Adventure Guide?

“Adventure Guides” will learn the foundations of museum education, receive training on the History Center’s historic buildings and their stories, and more. Adventure Guides will have the chance to volunteer for scheduled group visits using a simple online platform after completing two training sessions: the first will be a general overview of the program’s requirements and the next will be a modeled field trip.

Adventure Guides must be comfortable dealing with all the little folks and the grown ones too; be enthusiastic and curious; and be able to stand for long periods. Volunteers may be subject to a background check and must abide by the History Center’s policies and procedures.

Field trips are scheduled for weekday mornings, generally between 9 am and Noon. Volunteers may be called upon to volunteer at other youth-centric events such as Halloween or our annual summer camps.
