Want to Visit the Museum?
The Thomasville History Center is located in the historic 1923 Flowers-Roberts House at 725 North Dawson Street in Thomasville, Georgia. The building contains more than thirty-five exhibits about the history of Thomas County, as well as the document, photo, and three-dimensional archives that provide the material evidence of what happened in Thomas County’s past.
Hours of Operation:
- Business Hours: 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday
- Independent Tour Hours: 10am-4pm, Monday-Saturday
- Guided Grounds Tour Hours: 11am and 2pm, Monday-Friday

The Thomasville History Center asks that guests abide by all current CDC-issued guidance for face coverings and social distancing while visiting the Thomasville History Center.
Pre-Purchase Passes Admission to the Thomasville History Center & Lapham-Patterson House
Planning a visit to the Lapham-Patterson House and the Thomasville History Center? Save time (and a little cash) by pre-purchasing a Journey Pass or individual single-day admission to either location.
Options:
- Journey Pass: includes single-day admission to both the Lapham-Patterson House and the Thomasville History Center on a Friday or Saturday of your choice
- Independent or Guided Grounds Tours (Thomasville History Center)- single-day admission
- Lapham-Patterson House Tour– guided, single day admission
Please consult our events calendar before purchase to confirm both locations will be open. When you arrive, present a printed copy of your pass or your confirmation email upon entry at either location.
Journey Passes are only valid on Fridays and Saturdays.

Blue Star Museum Program
Memorial Day-Labor Day
The Thomasville History Center is proud to announce our participation in the Blue Star Museums, a collaboration among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense, and more than 2,000 museums across America to offer free admission to the nation’s active duty military personnel including National Guard and Reserve and their families from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Military families will have access to both the Thomasville History Center and the Lapham-Patterson House.
The free admission program is available to any bearer of a Geneva Convention Common Access Card (CAC), a DD from 1173 ID card (dependent ID), or a DD Form 1173-1 ID card, which includes active duty U.S. Military – Army, Navy, Air force, Marines, Coast Guard, as well as members of the National Guard and Reserve, U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps, NOAA Commissioned Corps – and up to five family members.
This year, more than 2,000 (and counting) museums in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and American Samoa are taking part in the inititative. Museums are welcome to join Blue Star Museums throughout the summer.
Museums for All Initiative

We are proud to participate in the Museums for All program, a cooperative initiative between the IMLS and Association of Children’s Museums that encourages families of all backgrounds to visit museums regularly and build life-long museum habits. To receive discounted admission, individuals and families must: present a Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card, and a valid form of photo ID upon admission. Benefits extend to up to 4 people per card.


Southeastern Reciprocal Membership
The Southeastern Reciprocal Membership Program (SERM) is a way for museums to offer their members an opportunity to visit participating museums in our Southeastern region. Reciprocity is for general admission only. To take advantage of this program, please present your institution’s membership card to receive free admission and a 10% discount on books and merchandise- the same perks that History Center members receive on their visits!

North American Reciprocal Museum
The Thomasville History Center is a proud member of the North American Reciprocal Museum Association (NARM). Present your membership card from a participating institution with the NARM sticker to receive the same benefits as Thomasville History Center members. Thomasville History Center members at the $100 level and above may receive reciprocal benefits at participating institutions across the country.
