For more than twenty years\, campers have gotten “hands-on” with history at our annual camps and we look forward to another summer of adventure! \nJoin us for 5 fun and adventure-filled days of museum learning. Open to campers in rising 5th through rising 8th Grade. Each group will experience age-appropriate activities using the History Center’s backyard and eight historic structures as our “classroom.” Every day brings new adventures as we explore Thomasville’s history from 12\,000 years ago through  the 21st century. Campers will also enjoy excursions out in the community on their journey through the past. \n\nNote: Camp registration does not include lunch\, only snacks. Please be as detailed as possible in the “things we should know” section as it helps us to best prepare for your camper and offer a positive experience for everyone. Things we like to know may include: camper may struggle with transitions\, camper is sensitive to heat and needs frequent water reminders\, etc.

The program will explore Charles Lapham’s Spiritualist beliefs and how they influenced the design\, symbolism\, and orientation of this remarkable home. \nThe evening includes a cocktail hour with hors d’oeuvres\, beer\, wine\, and a signature equinox sangria\, followed by a seated dinner featuring a special seasonal menu and dessert. DESCRIPTION:Join us March 18 from 1-3pm for a pop-up exhibit featuring archaeological finds from Site 8LE28\, “Senet Hadjo’s Town” located near Miccosukee\, Florida. Artifacts on display range from pottery to jewelry to glass tools. The land owner has generously agreed to let the History Center share some of these finds with our membership.
