Arbor Day Tree Planting

Trees Matter! Please join us Friday, February 17th at 10 am at the Thomasville History Center, 725 Dawson Street in beautiful downtown Thomasville. The event, sponsored by the City of Thomasville, the Georgia Forestry Commission, Landmarks, and the Thomasville Garden Club will be planting a native tree in the shadow of the log cabin on the property.

The tree planting is part of a National Initiative to encourage the planting of trees known as Arbor Day, and as part of Thomasville’s continuation as a Tree City USA. This tree will be planted in memory of Bonnie McMillan and her love of all things green.

Alongside the tree, the History Center will install the historic 1929 marker dedicating the McKinley Tree, gifted by President and Mrs. McKinley in 1899, to the citizens of Thomasville. Come be a part of history in the making!
